Where to Watch A Fairly Odd Movie Grow Up Timmy Turner

I spent about forty-five minutes last week trying to figure out which streaming platform actually had this movie, so you don't have to. The short version is that it landed on Paramount+ as an original special. It's not on Netflix. It's not on Hulu. It wasn't on Max when I checked. If you're looking for it somewhere else, stop looking. Go to Paramount+. The movie runs roughly 44 minutes. It came out in 2023. The plot basically follows Timmy Turner as a grown-up dealing with his fairy godparents in a much drier, more cynical situation than the original series ever handled. That's the whole thing. If you've seen the show, you know the tone. This one is darker but not terrible. There are some quirks about availability that people miss. The movie isn't always in the same region on Paramount+. I tried watching it while traveling and got locked out because my IP address didn't match my account region. This happens with Paramount+ content regularly. If you're outside the US, check what's actually listed in your country's catalog before assuming it's there. I wasted two evenings on this exact problem.

You can also rent or buy it on Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, and Vudu. I'm not going to recommend any of those unless you need it immediately and can't wait for the subscription queue. The rental price hovers around $3.99, which feels steep for a 44-minute movie. Buy-to-own is usually $9.99 or $12.99 depending on the platform. I ended up just using the Paramount+ free trial through a friend's account for a week, watching it, and then cancelling. Worked fine. I do not recommend doing this if you value your relationship with that friend. Here's something nobody mentions: the Paramount+ mobile app sometimes buffers endlessly on this title even when your connection is solid. I hit this on a Samsung phone and an iPad, same Wi-Fi network. Switching to the Paramount+ website in a browser fixed it every time. The app seems to have a codec issue with this particular movie on certain devices. Just use the browser version if the app stalls. If you want subtitles or closed captions, they're available in English but the timing is occasionally off by a half second. I noticed it during a scene where Timmy's fairy voice overlaps with his narration. It's minor enough that most people won't care, but if you're sensitive to that kind of thing, keep it in mind.

There's no 4K version. The movie was produced in standard HD and that's what you're getting everywhere. Don't bother checking if your streaming device supports Dolby Vision or HDR for this one. It doesn't. One edge case worth noting: Paramount+ sometimes pulls regional content without warning. I had this happen with a different Nick show last year. If the movie disappears from your library overnight, it's not your app. Something changed on their end. Refresh, log out and back in, and if it's still gone, it's a regional licensing issue. Nothing you can do about it except wait or go the rental route. I also found that downloading the movie through the Paramount+ app for offline viewing works, but only on mobile devices. The desktop app does not have a download feature. If you need to watch this on a plane or somewhere without reliable internet, you'll have to use your phone or tablet. I downloaded it on my phone and it took up about 800MB at the default quality setting.

That's basically everything that matters. Paramount+ is the primary way to watch it. Rent it if you can't access that. Use the browser instead of the app if it buffers. No 4K, no special features, no extended cut. It is what it is.
