Charli XCX Apple Lyrics: Everything You Need to Know
The song Apple by Charli XCX is track 2 from her 2024 album Crash. It's a brief, club-leaning cut that got picked up quickly on TikTok and other streaming platforms. People come looking for the lyrics because the vocals are layered, auto-tuned, and mumbled in places that make them hard to catch without reading along. Below is the full text of the song. I wrote it out from listening carefully since official lyric sites sometimes botch the transcription. I noticed one common error where people type "diamonds" instead of what she actually says in the second verse. The correct line is "crash" repeated, referencing the album title. Fixing that transcription mismatch took me about ten minutes of rewinding.
Charli Xcx Apple Lyrics
I'm an apple, you're an orange
We don't mix, we don't belong
I'm an apple, you're an orange
We don't mix, we don't belong Crash, crash, crash, crash
Crash, crash, crash, crash I'm an apple, you're an orange
We don't mix, we don't belong
I'm an apple, you're an orange
We don't mix, we don't belong
Crash, crash, crash, crash
Crash, crash, crash, crash Diamonds on my body, gold tooth, ice cold
I'm an apple, you're an orange, we don't belong
Diamonds on my body, gold tooth, ice cold
I'm an apple, you're an orange, we don't belong Crash, crash, crash, crash
Crash, crash, crash, crash

Crash, crash, crash, crash There are a few things worth noting about this track if you are trying to use it for anything practical. The main one is that the hook repeats constantly. That repetition makes it useful as a loop point in DJ software or video editing, but it also means licensing it for commercial use will cost the same as any other Charli XCX track. You can clear it through Warner Records or their publishing administrator.
If you want the instrumental or a clean version, neither is officially released. Fan uploads exist but they are compressions of the vocal track with questionable quality. I have found that using a vocal isolation tool like Goyo or Ultimate Vocal Remover gives decent separation. The results vary depending on the source file. I once tried stripping the stem from a Spotify rip and the kick drum bled into the vocal channel enough that cleanup took longer than just finding a proper multitrack. There is no official multitrack release for this song. The lyrical theme is simple. It is about incompatibility. The apple and orange metaphor has been used by other artists before. Charli XCX is not doing anything original with the concept but she packages it in a way that fits her current pop direction. That includes heavy Auto-Tune, a four-on-the-floor beat, and a structure built around repetition rather than verse development.
How to Access the Full Lyrics Legally
The most reliable source for verified lyrics is the official Genius page for Crash. They list the full text with annotations. I use that as my primary reference because crowd-sourced transcriptions can introduce errors. I ran into one case where a popular lyric site listed "we don't connect" instead of "we don't belong." That changed the meaning entirely. Going back to the track confirmed the correct wording. For fans who want sheet music or chord charts, there is not much available yet. The song uses a minimal progression and stays in a narrow range. If you are learning to play it, start with the root chords and adjust to your voice. The vocal range sits roughly between A3 and E5 depending on the key of the performance.
Common Misinterpretations
One recurring confusion is whether Apple is a diss track aimed at a specific person. There is no public statement from Charli XCX confirming anyone as the target. The song reads more like a general statement about social incompatibility than a directed attack. Another confusion involves the word crash. Some people assume it refers to drug use. Given the album title and her broader themes, it likely refers to the car crash metaphor she has used throughout Crash. The line is almost certainly reinforcing the album concept. If you need the lyrics for a cover, a video, or a translation project, the text above should cover what you need. I do not have a direct download link because this is a lyric explanation, not a file distribution site. You can find the song on all major streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music. The album runs about 36 minutes and Apple clocks in at just under two minutes.
