The Short Answer You Probably Need

Counter-Strike 2 isn't running on Nintendo Switch. It's not coming to it, and there's no official or reliable workaround to get it working natively on that hardware. The Switch runs on ARM-based mobile-grade silicon from about 2017, and CS2 dropped the Source engine for the more demanding Source 2. That gap is too wide to bridge without emulation that doesn't exist at anything resembling a playable state. What you're looking at when someone claims they played CS2 on a Switch is almost certainly one of three things: a cloud gaming stream, a completely different game with a misleading name, or a video edit. Cloud gaming through services like Xbox Cloud or GeForce Now can technically stream CS2 to any device with a browser, including Switch, but you need a very fast and stable internet connection, and you'll be dealing with input lag that makes competitive play miserable. I've tried this myself, and the response time was just too variable for anything beyond casual rounds. The real issue here is that Valve has never published CS2 for any console platform. The game launched exclusively on PC. There are no Nintendo Switch builds, no emulators that can realistically handle it, and no official release roadmap that includes the Switch. The last Counter-Strike console experience was CS:GO's limited appearance on Xbox 360 back in 2013, and even that was essentially a locked 60fps port, not a full console version.

If you're desperate to play something close to the CS2 experience on Switch, your best bet is to look at independent titles like Counter-Strike Online clones or arena shooters like Combat Master which occasionally cross into portable modes. Neither of them is CS2, and the gameplay feel is noticeably different, but they run on the hardware without requiring a $400 PC. Another edge case worth mentioning: I ran into a situation where someone sold a pre-installed CS2 build on a homebrew modded Switch. The download worked, but the game immediately detected online services and refused to launch because pirated anti-cheat is a nonstarter in multiplayer matchmaking. You can run it offline against bots, and even then the frame rate hovers around 25fps on a docked switch with thermal throttling kicking in after about ten minutes. That's not a practical way to play. The most honest recommendation here is to save yourself the hassle. Get a used gaming PC or use PC Game Pass if cost is a factor. CS2 is free, and even a budget build from a few years ago will run it at 144fps on low settings. The Switch is a decent handheld, but it was never going to be a Counter-Strike machine.
