How to Access Your Google Fi Call Records

You probably won't find a dedicated app for pulling call logs. Google Fi doesn't give you a slick interface for this stuff. Instead, everything lives inside your account settings on the web, and it works differently than what you're used to from a traditional carrier. The first thing you need to do is log into fi.google.com with the Google Account tied to your Fi line. Once you're in, click the three-dot menu in the top right corner and select "Account settings." From there, go to "Manage data" and then "Call records." This is where you'll see your complete list of incoming, outgoing, and missed calls with timestamps, durations, and numbers. It's not the most intuitive setup, but it does what it needs to do. The records you pull from Fi's portal are limited to 90 days of detail before they start fading into summary form. After that window, you're mostly stuck with whatever you downloaded or screenshotted. This is different from some carriers that keep a full log in the app for years. One thing nobody tells you about Fi Call History is that it doesn't capture calls made through third-party apps like WhatsApp or FaceTime, even if they went through your Wi-Fi. It only logs calls that ran through Fi's telephony system, so if you're trying to reconstruct your full communication pattern, you'll have blind spots. I ran into this exact problem when I was trying to reconcile a billing discrepancy and realized half my call log was missing because I'd been making VoIP calls without realizing they weren't showing up. Another quirk worth noting: if you use Wi-Fi Calling on Fi, those calls still appear in your records, but they're flagged differently depending on whether the call originated or terminated over Wi-Fi versus the cellular network. Sometimes the timestamps can be off by a few seconds compared to the cellular version because of how the data routes through Google's servers. It's a minor issue unless you need forensic-level accuracy, but it can be confusing if you're comparing your own notes against the official record.

There's no bulk export feature beyond what the portal gives you. You can download individual call detail records, but there's no CSV or spreadsheet option unless you go through Google Takeout, which is a separate process altogether. If you need historical data in a usable format, the workaround I use is to take screenshots of each page and then run them through a quick OCR tool, which honestly takes less time than I expected given the alternatives. For most people, just keeping the portal open while you're looking for something specific is faster than any export workaround. The biggest limitation is that Fi doesn't provide call recordings or transcription services. If you need a record of what was actually said, you'll need your own solution. Some people use a separate app or device to record calls before they notice the need, but that's a legal gray area depending on your state's consent laws. The records you get from Fi are metadata only, not content, and there's no way around that. If call recording is important to you for your business, consider setting up a separate business line through a provider that includes native recording capabilities rather than trying to patch it onto Fi after the fact.
