Snail Bob is a point-and-click puzzle game where you help a slow-moving snail navigate through obstacle-filled levels. The premise is simple enough — each level presents a path with hazards, and you interact with objects in the environment to clear the way or create routes the snail can take. It runs directly in your browser on Hooda Math, so there is nothing to install.
The game works by letting you click, drag, and activate items around the snail's path. Fans, levers, platforms, doors, and various other mechanisms appear across different levels. You move them into position or trigger them at the right moment. The snail moves at a constant, unhurried pace. Your job is to set things up before it arrives.

Most levels follow a similar pattern. You get a view of the snail's route, which usually stretches horizontally across the screen. Hazards include gaps, spikes, moving platforms, and gravity sections. Objects you can manipulate are scattered around. Clicking an item lets you reposition it, rotate it, or activate it. Dragging works for most interactive pieces.
Here is how I approach a typical level. I watch the snail start moving first. It tells you the timing and where it will be when certain events happen. Then I scan the available objects and figure out which ones could interact with the hazards in front of it. Sometimes you need to place a bridge over a gap. Sometimes you need to lower a platform so the snail can climb up. Other times you have to stop a fan from blowing the snail off course.
One specific issue I ran into involves the level where a fan blows upward near a pit. You might instinctively try to move the fan away, but that does not work. The fan is fixed in place. The workaround is to click and hold a nearby platform, drag it under the fan before the snail reaches that section, and let the updraft carry the platform along with the snail on it. The snail walks across while riding the platform. If you time it wrong, the snail falls in. I had to reset and retry that one about four times before the timing clicked.
Some levels introduce new mechanics. Elevators that move up and down on a track. Buttons that open doors when pressed. Conveyor belts that shift left or right. Rotating bridges. None of them are complicated individually, but combining multiple mechanics in a single level is where it gets tricky. You have to chain actions in the correct order, because the snail keeps moving forward.
There is no timer in the traditional sense. That sounds relaxing until you realize the snail's pace means you have to commit to an action and then wait to see if it worked. There is no undo button for most interactions once you release an object. If you place something wrong, you generally have to restart the level. This slows down progress, especially on later levels with longer chains of dependencies.
The game also has a hint system. Clicking the question mark icon shows you what object to interact with next. It does not walk you through the full solution, just the immediate next step. Useful when you are stuck, but relying on hints defeats the purpose of working through the puzzle yourself.
Progress saves automatically as you complete levels. Your browser stores completion data, so closing the tab and coming back later resumes where you left off. If you switch devices, the progress does not carry over unless you are signed into a Hooda Math account that syncs save data.
Level design improves as you go. Early stages are straightforward introductions to each mechanic. Mid-game levels layer two or three mechanics together. Late levels can require three or four sequential interactions with precise timing between them. The difficulty curve is fair, though a few later levels feel borderline trial-and-error because the snail's movement speed leaves very little margin for mistake.
If you find Snail Bob too casual or not challenging enough, the same developers made other puzzle games with similar mechanics but tighter design. They are also available on Hooda Math and run in the same browser format. Snail Bob works best as a light puzzle experience rather than a deep strategic game.
