Brown, 2009-07-01 In this completely revised and updated edition of the customer service classic, Carl Sewell enhances his time-tested advice with fresh ideas and new examples and explains how the groundbreaking “Ten Commandments of Customer Service” apply to today’s world. Drawing on his incredible success in transforming his Dallas Cadillac dealership into the second largest in America, Carl Sewell revealed the secret of getting customers to return again and again in the original Customers for Life. A lively, down-to-earth narrative, it set the standard for customer service excellence and became a perennial bestseller. Building on that solid foundation, this expanded edition features five completely new chapters, as well as significant additions to the original material, based on the lessons Sewell has learned over the last ten years. Sewell focuses on the expectations and demands of contemporary consumers and employees, showing that businesses can remain committed to quality service in the fast-paced new millennium by sticking to his time-proven approach: Figure out what customers want and make sure they get it. His “Ten Commandants” provide the essential guidelines, including: • Underpromise, overdeliver: Never disappoint your customers by charging them more than they planned. Always beat your estimate or throw in an extra service free of charge. • No complaints? Something’s wrong: If you never ask your customers what else they want, how are you going to give it to them? • Measure everything: Telling your employees to do their best won’t work if you don’t know how they can improve. |

car sales phone training: The Art and Science of Running a Car Dealership Max Zanan, 2019-10-09 This book is the pocket guide I wish I had when I first became a general manager of a Mitsubishi dealership in New York. Honestly, I am not the brightest star in the sky and made every mistake anyone could've possibly made. Unfortunately, I see dealer principals/general managers/general sales managers making the same mistakes today. The only difference is the time and consequences of these mistakes. I got my first GM gig in 2004. That was in the beginning days of the Internet, before millennials joined the workforce, and way before any viable disrupters entered the market space. It was a lot easier to get away with mistakes then. I don't think you could get away with making the same mistakes now. The stakes are too high. Automotive retail profit margins are tiny. According to the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA), automotive net profit margin as of March 31, 2019 was merely 1.38 percent. As a result, every misstep makes it harder to stay in business. The car business desperately needs better leadership skills, understanding of social media, inventory management, fixed operations, and so much more. There is no educational barrier to the entry into car business, and there are only a handful of universities offering a major in car dealership general management, such as Liberty and Keiser. On top of that, only a tiny percentage of dealer principals and general managers attend the National Automobile Dealer Association University. That means that a vast majority of general managers receive training on the job, even if we took business-related classes in college. The auto business is a different animal. General information will only carry you so far. That is exactly why general managers make the same mistakes year after year. My goal is to break this vicious cycle and provide as much information as possible to ensure that automotive retail survives the disruptions we are witnessing today. We need to be ready for the next generation of car buyers, people who are more computer savvy and not afraid to search for better deals. According to surveys, 80 percent of millennials plan to buy a vehicle in the next five years. In fact, millennials worldwide will buy about 40 percent of all vehicles in the next decade. At the same time, they spend an average of 17 hours on line before going to a dealership. Are you ready for them? |

car sales phone training: How to Improve Auto Sales Phone Skills Ana Rodriguez, Elvis Rodriguez, 2023-08-06 How are your auto sales phone skills? Are you answering all your incoming auto sales calls using a phone script for each and every auto sales call? The phone is where it all begins or where it can also end before it ever gets started! Buyers who pick up the phone and call an auto dealership tend to buy more than any other lead source and also, people who call the dealership with a sale inquiry tend to be much more educated and tech savvy. Because of today's technology, buyers can access and virtually visit many dealerships in less than one hour with the access that the internet provides. But even with the less stressful shopping experience the internet provides, buyers still like to have human interaction and like to feel they are special. Converting sales leads into dealership appointments and converting these appointments to sales is the biggest challenge dealers and their management teams must face. The truth is, it is not your ability to speak on the phone that matters but your ability to convert these opportunities into sales. We all know that each lead is very important and the way you handle each one of them will determine your monthly income, so why waste them? Remember, if you cannot set the appointment and eventually close the deal, someone else will! So why not improve your phone skills and make each of your leads count? Start converting your phone shoppers to sales today! Fast Sales Training Center has created this auto sales course because of the advent of the internet and the high expectation of fast and well-informed answers that buyers have come to expect when they call an auto dealership. Here you will find the best phone scripts for most situations and you will be better prepared to overcome objections and to set appointments with buyers who are needy to buy. |

car sales phone training: The Car Salesman's Bible Ron Vest, 2016-08-22 One of the greatest compliments I have ever received came very unexpectedly. I had been in the car business for about 20 years and had personally trained over 300 salespeople. The same training you are about to receive. I was just hired as the general manager of a dealership and was holding my first meeting with the salespeople. I was making the point that following a process is extremely important and I listed the steps in the sales training that are in this book. One of the salespeople raised their hand, took out a folded up piece of paper, and read the steps of the sales process I had just listed. I asked him where he got that from and he said that salespeople had been passing it around for years because they never received better training from their employers. That is the reason for this book. To give the person who wants to be a professional car salesperson a map on how to achieve success. This book is very extensive and was written for the new hire as well as the seasoned pro. I truly hope this becomes a tool that you use often and you have the discipline to follow the process. In other words, I hope this becomes The Car Salesman's Bible. Best regards, Ron |

car sales phone training: The 7-Minute Setup Frank Lopes, 2020-04-20 |
car sales phone training: Effective Car Dealer Max Zanan, 2020-07-13 This is my fourth book on the auto industry, and I have written it because this business is complicated, sophisticated, and ever-changing. Automotive retail is changing slowly, and one of the main reasons for that are the franchise laws. I want to urge you to operate as though franchise laws don't exist to protect you. Carvana is not going anywhere and neither is Amazon. At some point they will join forces. Also, OEM's such as Tesla, Rivian, and many more are going to go directly to the consumer, bypassing the dealer network altogether. At the end of the day, awesome customer service, whether in sales, service, or parts, will keep your customers coming back for more. Poor service and a cumbersome sales experience will drive them elsewhere-Carvana, CarMax, Tesla, Jiffy Lube, Firestone, Good Year, Valvoline, NAPA Parts, Pep Boys, etc.COVID-19 is already having a profound effect on consumer behavior and the way in which we buy and service cars. I predict that there will be two types of dealers after this pandemic abates-the first will change their business operations, adopting frictionless digital and showroom retail; the second will hope that things go back to normal and that nothing needs to change. Unfortunately, the second type of dealer will be out of business. It is ultimately your choice whether to accept change. Consumers will continue to purchase cars. The only question is: Will they will be buying from you? |

car sales phone training: Way of the Wolf Jordan Belfort, 2017-09-26 Jordan Belfort—immortalized by Leonardo DiCaprio in the hit movie The Wolf of Wall Street—reveals the step-by-step sales and persuasion system proven to turn anyone into a sales-closing, money-earning rock star. For the first time ever, Jordan Belfort opens his playbook and gives you access to his exclusive step-by-step system—the same system he used to create massive wealth for himself, his clients, and his sales teams. Until now this revolutionary program was only available through Jordan’s $1,997 online training. Now, in Way of the Wolf, Belfort is ready to unleash the power of persuasion to a whole new generation, revealing how anyone can bounce back from devastating setbacks, master the art of persuasion, and build wealth. Every technique, every strategy, and every tip has been tested and proven to work in real-life situations. Written in his own inimitable voice, Way of the Wolf cracks the code on how to persuade anyone to do anything, and coaches readers—regardless of age, education, or skill level—to be a master sales person, negotiator, closer, entrepreneur, or speaker. |
car sales phone training: Sh*t Sandwich Steve Stauning, 2017-07-12 No one succeeds without sacrifice... can we all agree on that? The problem is that most every book on the subject of success misses the big picture by ignoring all the little pictures. Think about it; while there have been plenty of books that claim to help anyone achieve the near impossible - like wealth beyond their wildest dreams - the fact is that most everyone on the planet has their sights set on something a little more realistic (and way more rewarding). That is, their goal is simply to live a great life. Living a great life is the epitome of success... can we all agree on that? Great! Based on the two axioms we've all agreed on: Living a great life is what we all want, and living a great life takes sacrifice. The interesting thing about sacrifice is that it's not the huge, bold, public sacrifices one makes in life that drive the most success; but rather the small, seemingly insignificant sacrifices we make (or avoid) every single day that have the greatest positive (or negative) impact on our life and the lives of those around us. I call these shit sandwiches. All successful people ate shit sandwiches to get where they are today. In fact, the more successful they are the more shit sandwiches they ate. The funny thing about shit sandwiches, however, is that the more successful you become, the more shit sandwiches you have to eat to stay there. Shit sandwiches are those little sacrifices, hardships, or unpleasantness we undertake every day to achieve some common or personal good; and everyone who wants to succeed eats them. As you'll read in this book, great employees eat a lot of shit sandwiches. Great leaders eat a lot of shit sandwiches. Great husbands, wives, brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, boyfriends and girlfriends all eat a lot of shit sandwiches. Successful people - in work or in play - all eat their share shit sandwiches. Are you ready to start eating your share? |

car sales phone training: How to Improve Auto Sales Phone Skills A Rodriguez, E Rodriguez, 2020-12-08 How are your auto sales phone skills? Are you answering all your incoming auto sales calls using a phone script for each and every auto sales call? The phone is where it all begins or where it can also end before it ever gets started! Buyers who pick up the phone and call an auto dealership tend to buy more than any other lead source and also, people who call the dealership with a sale inquiry tend to be much more educated and tech savvy.Because of today's technology, buyers can access and virtually visit many dealerships in less than one hour with the access that the internet provides.
