change business hours on google: Organizational Change, Innovation and Business Development Magdalena Popowska, Julita E. Wasilczuk, 2022-09-23 This volume presents a collection of different views and perspectives, featuring both theoretical and empirical contributions, to provide deep insight into the role of innovation and of non-technological innovation (NTI) in contemporary business. It illustrates how NTI encourages organizational development as well as competitive advantage. Chapters display a variety of research methods, both qualitative and quantitative, including case studies, best practices, surveys, novel approaches to interpretations, concepts and theories. Together they contribute to a significant extension of the existing knowledge on non-technological innovations and their role in organizations. This volume highlights the effects of marketing and organizational innovation strategies on companies’ innovation and overall performance, while demonstrating that the effects of NTI may vary depending on the phase of the innovation process, and how it differs within small, medium and large enterprises from manufacturing and service industries. It explores the bidirectional relationship between technological innovation (TI) and NTI, and considers the competences needed to implement NTI. The book is written for scholars and academic professionals from a wide variety of disciplines addressing issues of organizational change and innovation, new management techniques and strategies, and the sustainable growth of organizations. It may also be an interesting source of knowledge for graduate and postgraduate students in management.

change business hours on google: Systems Engineering for Business Process Change Peter Henderson, 2012-12-06 A very large proportion of commercial and industrial concerns in the UK find their business competitiveness dependent on huge quantities of already installed, legacy IT. Often the nature of their business is such that, to remain competitive, they have to be able to change their business processes. Sometimes the required change is radical and revolutionary, but more often the required change is incremental. For such incremental change, a major systems engineering problem arises. The cost and delay involved in changing the installed IT to meet the changed business requirements is much too high. In order to address this issue the UK Engineering and Physical Science Research Council (EPSRC) set up, in 1996, a managed research programme entitled Systems Engineering for Business Process Change (SEBPC). I was appointed as co-ordinator of the programme. The overall aim of this new managed research programme was to release the full potential of IT as an enabler of business process change, and to overcome the disabling effects which the build-up of legacy systems has on such change. As such, this aim addressed a stated objective of the Information Technology and Computer Science (IT&CS) part of EPSRC to encourage research at a system level.
change business hours on google: Cultural Change from a Business Anthropology Perspective Maryann McCabe, Elizabeth K. Briody, 2017-11-09 This book offers keen insight and useful lessons underscoring the value of practice to theory. Conceived by two anthropologists who lead consulting practices, McCabe and Briody selected contributors to explore how cultural change happens in a variety of consumer and organizational contexts. The 12 case studies illustrate the explanatory potential and the problem-solving strengths of assemblage theory, and the role of human agency in provoking cultural change. The case studies are compelling due to connections between the case narratives and graphics, and researcher engagement in the pragmatics of implementation—both of which shape and encourage learning. This volume will be markedly useful to practitioners engaged in research and implementation. It will also appeal to students and faculty in a variety of fields including anthropology, business management, marketing, sociology, cultural studies, and industrial design.
change business hours on google: Systems Engineering for Business Process Change: New Directions Peter Henderson, 2012-12-06 Systems Engineering for Business Process Change: New Directions is a collection of papers resulting from an EPSRC managed research programme set up to investigate the relationships between Legacy IT Systems and Business Processes. The papers contained in this volume report the results from the projects funded by the programme, which ran between 1997 and 2001. An earlier volume, published in 2000, reported interim results. Bringing together researchers from diverse backgrounds in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering and Business Schools, this book explores the problems experienced by IT-dependent businesses that have to implement changing business processes in the context of their investment in legacy systems. The book presents some of the solutions investigated through the collaborations set up within the research programme. Whether you are a researcher interested in the ideas that were generated by the research programme, or a user trying to understand the nature of the problems and their solutions, you cannot fail to be inspired by the writings contained in this volume.

change business hours on google: Carbon Governance, Climate Change and Business Transformation Adam Bumpus, James Tansey, Blas Luis Pérez Henríquez, Chukwumerije Okereke, 2014-07-17 Transformation to a low carbon economy is a central tenet to any discussion on the solutions to the complex challenges of climate change and energy security. Despite advances in policy, carbon management and continuing development of clean technology, fundamental business transformation has not occurred because of multiple political, economic, social and organisational issues. Carbon Governance, Climate Change and Business Transformation is based on leading academic and industry input, and three international workshops focused on low carbon transformation in leading climate policy jurisdictions (Canada, USA and the UK) under the international Carbon Governance Project (CGP) banner. The book pulls insights from this innovative collaborative network to identify the policy combinations needed to create transformative change. It explores fundamental questions about how governments and the private sector conceptualize the problem of climate change, the conditions under which business transformation can genuinely take place and key policy and business innovations needed. Broadly, the book is based on emerging theories of multi-levelled, multi-actor carbon governance, and applies these ideas to the real world implications for tackling climate change through business transformation. Conceptually and empirically, this book stimulates both academic discussion and practical business models for low carbon transformation.

Sample Book Insights: #1 HBR’s 10 must reads on change management is a list of books that will help you better understand and deal with change in your life and work. #2 The most general lesson to be learned from the more successful cases is that the change process goes through a series of phases that take a considerable length of time. Skipping stages creates only the illusion of speed, never producing a satisfying result. #3 The first phase of a transformation is when some individuals or groups start to look hard at a company’s competitive situation, market position, technological trends, and financial performance. They then find ways to communicate this information broadly and dramatically. #4 The urgency rate is when about 75 percent of a company’s management is convinced that business as usual is completely unacceptable. Anything less can produce serious problems later on in the transformation process.

change business hours on google: The Business Of Media: Change And Challenges Mónica Herrero, Steve Wildman, 2021-05-30 Advancement of the state of scholarship on media management is a three-pronged process. The body of knowledge on which media executives and managers can draw grows as: (1) core concepts and analytical frameworks are refined, augmented and occasionally supplemented or replaced by new ideas that better explain the roles of media in their larger economic and societal contexts; (2) Rigorous empirical analysis probes the limitations of current understanding and raises new questions; and (3) Grounded case studies extract knowledge through theoretically informed observation of situations and processes that are too complex and multi-faceted for more tightly controlled statistical analyses but still are too rich in their potential to contribute to knowledge to ignore. All three prongs are represented in this edited volume, which draws on the best of the new research and thinking showcased at the Annual Conference of the International Media Management Academic Association held during October 24-25, 2014 in Pamplona, Spain. The book’s 10 chapters are organized into three main sections that move, respectively, from a high level focus on core principals and fundamental challenges to effective management, to more narrowly focused research (but with generalizable findings) on solutions to concrete and specific problems faced by media firms trying to improve their results from the services and products they offer, to case studies of market-level change in three very different political and economic environments. The remainder of this brief introduction was written as a guide to the research and findings presented in these sections.
