Thoughts of this house haunted me throughout my life even throughout twenty-five years of living abroad and teaching for the Department of Defense Overseas Dependent Schools throughout Europe. My family actually bought a gorgeous house on Wolfe Street, West Little Rock, in 1945, conveniently placing our family close to then Little Rock High School (now Little Rock Central High) and making it convenient to walk to school and to work at our third grocery store on West Fourteenth Street, Little Rock. The book tells of the many exciting places I lived and taught in the United States and abroad.
